Warning Issued by Ministry of Islamic Affairs Against Unlicensed Umrah Collections

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has issued a stern warning to the public, urging vigilance against two unauthorized groups engaged in collecting money from individuals for Umrah without the necessary license. In an official statement, the Islamic Ministry identified the two entities as Al Mashrau Hajj Umrah and Wadi Hajj and Umrah, cautioning citizens against falling victim to their unauthorized financial solicitations.

Expressing concern over the unauthorized collection of funds for Umrah, the Ministry emphasized the illegality of charging individuals for pilgrimage without the requisite permissions. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, responsible for regulating the transportation of individuals for Hajj and Umrah, has launched an investigation into the reported activities of these unauthorized groups.

The Ministry has established specific rules and regulations that grant licenses to companies facilitating pilgrims’ services for Hajj and Umrah for a two-year period. Companies are prohibited from accepting payments exceeding the stipulated two-year timeframe. The Ministry’s statement reinforces the importance of adhering to these regulations to ensure the welfare and rights of individuals embarking on religious pilgrimages.

To facilitate transparency and assist the public in making informed decisions, the Islamic Ministry has published a comprehensive list of licensed companies authorized to provide Hajj and Umrah services on its official website.
