The President will begin meeting journalists every Monday as part of a new effort to provide information directly and maintain a consistent line of communication with the media. The plan was outlined in this year’s Presidential address and confirmed today in an X post by Presidential Spokesperson Heena Waleed.
In the presidential address, the President said he would meet journalists every Monday from 10am to 11am from March onwards. He noted that the weekly briefing would continue unless the schedule is disrupted by official travel or public holidays. He said the decision was taken to strengthen his working relationship with journalists and ensure regular access to updates on government work.
The spokesperson said press conferences will also continue in the coming weeks. She noted that the new arrangement, which began on 1 March 2026, is intended to increase transparency and support the flow of accurate information to newsrooms.
The President said he views direct engagement as an important part of his communication strategy and expects the weekly briefings to remain a standing feature of his schedule.
