More than 6,000 products have been registered to take part in this year’s Maldivian Innovation Fair, marking a sharp jump of over 2,000 items compared to last year’s event, according to the Business Center Corporation (BCC).
BCC revealed that it has received over 800 applications so far—double the figure recorded for the previous edition. The corporation has urged participants not to wait until the final hour to submit their detailed product specifications, setting a firm deadline for September 30.
The fair serves as a key platform for local entrepreneurs and creators to advertise goods, scale up market reach, and network directly with service seekers and potential business partners under one roof. Exhibitors will showcase items and services across 16 main sectors split into 73 distinct categories.
Open to Maldivians aged 13 and above, the event accommodates individual creators, local businesses, state-owned enterprises, educational institutions, local councils, and persons with disabilities.
Organizers have scheduled the exhibition to run from October 25 to November 2 at Hulhumalé Central Park. Alongside the product showcases, the event will feature cultural performances, traditional boduberu, and interactive activities tailored for both adults and children.
With President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu designating this year as the Year of Productivity, BCC stated its primary goal is to maximize marketing opportunities for local talent, promoting home-grown creativity and boosting the reach of Maldivian goods and services.
