From Gazi Building to Velana Building, President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom spearheaded the development of government complexes—an initiative unmatched by any subsequent administration.

The President’s Office has launched a new online directory and dedicated website aimed at centralising accurate information on all state institutions in one easily accessible platform.

The launch forms part of government efforts to streamline administrative operations and improve transparency in line with the “Maldives 2.0” vision. Members of the public can access the official directory at directory.presidency.gov.mv.

To ensure the directory remains up to date, state entities must promptly inform the President’s Office of any changes to their details—including the names of designated institutional heads, official addresses, contact numbers, or social media links—via the dedicated form on the website or through email.

Under the new arrangement, the government has also made it mandatory for all state offices to standardise institutional names in both Dhivehi and English across official documentation, publications, internal databases, websites, and social media platforms according to the listings in the directory.
