Bangladesh Mission Opens Condolence Book for Dhaka Crash Victims

MALÉ, Maldives — The High Commission of Bangladesh in the Maldives opened a condolence book on Wednesday to honor the victims of a devastating Bangladesh Air Force aircraft crash in Dhaka on July 21, 2025. The tragedy claimed numerous lives, including many students from Milestone School and College, and left others injured.

The condolence book, available at the High Commission’s premises in Hulhumale’, invites officials, diplomats, members of the Bangladeshi community, and well-wishers to pay their respects and offer messages of sympathy. The condolence book was open on July 23 and 24 and will be open on July 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 10982 Nirolhu Magu, Goalhi-16, Hulhumale’.

Acting High Commissioner Mohamed Sohel Parvez expressed the nation’s grief, saying, “We stand together in this moment of profound sorrow. The nation mourns the lives lost, and we are deeply grateful for the support and kind wishes from the Maldivian government and people.” He also acknowledged a heartfelt message from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. The High Commission observed a day of national mourning and held a special prayer for the deceased and the recovery of the injured. The gesture reflects the deep ties between Bangladesh and the Maldives during this time of shared sorrow.
