MALÉ, Maldives – The Cabinet has finalized a comprehensive suite of special measures designed to streamline public service delivery and enforce strict compliance with project deadlines across all state institutions and state-owned enterprises, the President’s Office announced.
To actively counter operational bottlenecks, a specialized oversight team will be established within the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises. This dedicated unit will identify and resolve day-to-day administrative obstacles encountered by line ministries and state companies during project execution.

Government ministries must comprehensively update all project data on the central coordination portal, “Duveli,” alongside the Ministry of Finance’s Public Investment Management System (PIMS). Moving forward, both systems must reflect real-time progress updates.
Housing Project Intervention
Immediate Implementation
The Ministry of Housing, Land and Urban Development, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, will initiate targeted interventions with individual contractors to expedite delayed housing and urban infrastructure developments.
Chemical Warehouse Zoning Reform

Reflecting safety protocols established in the capital, local councils are prohibited from issuing permits for chemical storage facilities within residential zones across outer atolls. All future storage developments must be restricted to designated, low-risk industrial areas.
Nationwide RTL Network Expansion
By January 2027
The government has mandated the complete expansion and operational rollout of the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) high-speed ferry and bus network to encompass all administrative atolls.
