The President and First Lady attend Wreath Laying Ceremony

H.E. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and H.E. First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Monument to the People’s Heroes in the Tiananmen Square.

During the ceremony, the National Anthems of Maldives and China were played by the Chinese Military Band. The President laid the wreath and paid a silent tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives fighting for China’s independence.

The Monument was built as a national memorial to the martyrs of China’s revolutionary struggle in the 19th and 20th centuries.
