Police have arrested a 37-year-old man after seizing over half a kilogram of suspected narcotics during a raid on a house in Maafannu, Male’.
The operation was launched on August 13 following intelligence that drugs were being used, kept, and sold at the location. The joint raid was carried out by Drug Enforcement and Counter-Narcotics Intelligence.
Officers executed a court warrant to search M. Sandy Hollow and arrested 37-year-old Abdulla Inaz. A search of his residence turned up suspected illegal drugs with a temporary weight of 515.11 grams.
Inaz was produced before court to decide on his detention, where the judge ordered him held in custody for five days.
Police confirm the investigation remains ongoing.
