The People’s National Congress (PNC) will hold its “People’s March” today at 4pm, starting in front of the party’s main campaign centre. The party has called on as many supporters as possible to join the march.
PNC leader and President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to attend.
The ruling party is organising the march as the final event of its campaign ahead of Saturday’s three votes: the local council elections, the women’s development committee elections and the public referendum on whether presidential and parliamentary elections should be held on the same day.
The PNC has fielded the highest number of candidates in both the council and WDC elections and has been running an intensive campaign for the past two months. The party has already secured several seats uncontested ahead of polling day.
