Former President and People’s National Front (PNF) leader Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom is set to travel to Addu City this Friday to hold a political gathering.
Speaking about the upcoming visit, Yameen confirmed that the trip is an official PNF activity and that the party will host a town hall meeting for Addu residents during his stay.
The PNF held its first event outside Malé on August 23 in Thinadhoo City, followed shortly by a second gathering in Fuvahmulah City on August 27.
The opposition movement currently holds weekly political meetings out of Yameen’s private sitting room in Malé. Attending these regular sessions as a panelist, Yameen continues to heavily criticize President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and senior administration officials over key government policies and state affairs.
