First Lady Calls for Dignity and Equal Opportunity on International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, First Lady Sajida Mohammed called on society to uphold dignity, equal opportunities and justice for every woman.

In her message marking the day, the First Lady extended greetings to Maldivian women and praised their contributions. She said the day is observed in recognition of the brave and wise women who raise families, guide communities and give hope to the nation.

Reflecting on the role of women, the First Lady said, “Your voice is the force that shapes our future.” She highlighted the courage and compassion shown by Maldivian women as mothers, daughters, sisters and leaders.

Her message also encouraged collective effort to build a society where dreams can be realised, grounded in justice and respect regardless of gender.
