MALE, Maldives — President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed hosted a state banquet on Friday evening to honor Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a significant moment in the two nations’ diplomatic ties.
The event, held at the President’s official residence, celebrated the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and India.
The banquet was attended by members of the Indian delegation accompanying Prime Minister Modi, Speaker of the Majlis Abdul Raheem Abdulla, VP Mohamed Hussain Latheef as well as senior Maldivian government officials. The occasion underscored the enduring partnership between the neighboring nations, with both leaders expected to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation during the visit.
