Tourist arrivals to the Maldives reached 10,253 on Sunday, marking the highest single‑day total recorded in February this year. The Ministry of Tourism said the figure includes passengers arriving through Velana International Airport and the country’s regional international gateways.

Officials noted that February is traditionally one of the busiest months for the Maldives. Visitor numbers typically rise as peak‑season travel reaches its height. Last year, however, February saw a dip in arrivals.

The latest count also surpasses the highest February totals of the past three years.

February Arrivals in Recent Years

  • 2023: 8,028 tourists (11 February)
  • 2024: 10,213 tourists (10 February)
  • 2025: 9,000 tourists (1 February)

According to the ministry, 224,344 tourists have visited the Maldives so far this year. That represents an 11.3 percent increase compared with January.
