The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority has released the names of individuals and companies that have not filed their income tax and personal income tax returns up to December.

According to the authority, 48 non‑private entities and companies have been listed. Small and medium enterprises are not included. The list features several well‑known businesses, including SJ Business, the Indian firm Renaatus Projects Private Limited, Focus Company, Megachip, Sibco Retails Private Limited and Platinum Capital Holdings Pvt Ltd. The full list is available on MIRA’s website.

MIRA said the disclosures were made under the anonymity rule, which requires the authority to contact non‑compliant taxpayers by phone before publishing their details. During these calls, individuals are informed of the penalties set out in law and the actions that may follow if they continue to ignore their obligations.

The authority said additional measures under its enforcement policy will be applied without discrimination to recover unpaid taxes and other outstanding funds.

MIRA urged those who have not filed their returns to do so promptly. Those with unpaid taxes have been advised to settle their dues or enter into a tax payment agreement with the authority. Individuals and companies that are unable to pay in full have the option to negotiate a structured payment plan.

The authority said the publication of names is part of its effort to improve compliance and ensure fairness across the tax system.
