Russian Medical Experts Share Training and Hold Talks in Malé

A senior medical delegation from Russia has completed a visit to the Maldives, meeting local institutions and delivering training sessions aimed at strengthening cooperation in healthcare and medical education.

According to details shared by the Consulate General of Russia in Malé, the visit was led by Professor Dr Sergey Karpishchenko, a well‑known ENT specialist and Vice Rector of the First Pavlov State Medical University in Saint Petersburg. He was accompanied by Dr Victoria Gavrilina, Deputy Dean of the university’s Faculty of Medicine for International Students.

The delegation presented the university’s programmes to the Maldives National University School of Medicine, outlining opportunities for academic exchange and training for Maldivian students and professionals. They also conducted Continuing Medical Education lectures on otorhinolaryngology for doctors at IGMH and ADK Hospital, focusing on clinical practice and updates in ENT care.

Images shared by the Consulate show the team engaging with medical staff and visiting education centres, with discussions centred on ENT training and future collaboration between institutions in both countries.

The Consulate said the visit reflects a shared interest in expanding cooperation between the Maldives and Russia in medical and educational fields, noting that both sides welcome continued partnership and professional exchange.
