The FIFA World Cup 2026 kicks off tonight and both of the Maldives’ main telecom providers have launched World Cup promotions to help fans stream matches on the go or from home.
Dhiraagu — “Foriyn Gugumaalaa”
Dhiraagu has three offers running until the tournament ends.
Jehee Libuny — Every time your chosen team scores, you get 1GB of free data. Sign up through the Dhiraagu app, pick your team, and the data comes automatically with each goal. The customer with the most data at the top of the leaderboard when the promotion ends wins a PS5 Slim, EA FC 26 bundle, and a Samsung Odyssey curved monitor.
MTV Mobile Add-On (Weare26Pass) — For MVR 275, prepaid and postpaid customers get a Medianet MTV mobile subscription to stream matches live, plus 3GB of free data on top.
25GB Fori Bonus — Select prepaid add-ons come with a 25GB bonus. Packages start from MVR 20.
Ooredoo — “Football Fori”
Ooredoo is offering a Medianet package for MVR 275 that includes 3GB of data and a Medianet TV subscription valid until the end of the tournament. Prepaid and postpaid customers are both eligible.
Ooredoo is also running a lucky draw for customers who sign up to a new Supernet Unlimited broadband connection or upgrade to an unlimited package between 10 June and 31 July. One winner gets a 75-inch Hisense TV. The draw takes place after the promotion period closes.
Separately, existing Supernet customers can upgrade to a faster unlimited package for free for the first three months at their current price. If you do not downgrade before the three months are up, the full price of the upgraded package kicks in automatically.
Tonight’s opening match between Mexico and South Africa kicks off at midnight Maldives time. South Korea versus Czech Republic follows at 7am tomorrow morning.
Full details on both promotions are available through the Dhiraagu and Ooredoo apps.
