The Indian High Commission marked India’s 80th Independence Day with an official flag-hoisting ceremony at its chancery in Hulhumalé.
Indian High Commissioner G. Balasubramanian raised the national flag to open the event before reading out the official address delivered by the President of India on the eve of Independence Day.
The gathering brought together High Commission staff, Indian expatriates, and members of the local Indian community living in the capital region. The morning program also featured cultural performances showcasing traditional Indian arts and heritage.
