Health Minister Meets Chinese Ambassador, Discusses Hospital Project and Training

MALE’ — Minister of Health, Family and Social Services Geela Ali met with Chinese Ambassador Kong Xianghua on Wednesday to discuss cooperation in the health and social sectors.

Kong assured the minister that China would continue supporting the development of those sectors in the Maldives. He said the China-Maldives Friendship Hospital under construction in Vilimale, along with other ongoing projects, would further strengthen ties between the two countries.

The two sides also discussed training and capacity building in the health and social services sector.

Geela described China as an important development partner and thanked the ambassador for the work done to date.
