India Hands Over 3,300 Housing Units in Hulhumalé

MALE’, Maldives — Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over symbolic keys for 3,300 residential units in Hulhumalé to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Friday, advancing a major housing project funded by a $227 million Indian credit line.

Part of a 4,000-unit initiative, the development includes 1,200 two-bedroom and 2,800 three-bedroom flats, with 700 units previously delivered in October 2024. The ceremony, held at the President’s Office, highlighted India’s role in supporting Maldivian infrastructure.
