Indian High Commission Donates Laptops to Six PNC Constituencies

MALE’ — The Indian High Commission in the Maldives has donated a consignment of laptops to six parliamentary constituencies represented by members of the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC).

The official handover ceremony took place this morning at the Majlis Secretariat. High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, G. Balasubramanian, presented the equipment to the Speaker of the People’s Majlis, Abdul Raheem Abdulla, who accepted the donation on behalf of the legislative body.

The six constituencies receiving the donation are:

  • Fonadhoo: Represented by Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla
  • Manadhoo: Represented by Husnee Mubarak
  • Kendhikulhudhoo: Represented by Afoo Hamid
  • Kurendhoo: Represented by Mohamed Shamin Habeeb
  • Huraa: Represented by Dr. Anara Naeem
  • Nilandhoo: Represented by Fathimath Saudha

In a statement, the Indian High Commission described the donation as a significant step under the “Maldives 2.0 Digital Transformation” vision. The initiative is intended to facilitate constituency development through technology and further strengthen the long-standing bilateral ties and capacity-building cooperation between the two nations.
