RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Saturday at Al-Mina Palace, where the two leaders held discussions aimed at deepening the longstanding relationship between their nations.

The meeting, marked by a warm exchange of diplomatic courtesies, centered on strengthening bilateral cooperation. Both leaders expressed a commitment to enhancing the fraternal ties that have historically bound the Maldives and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing shared values and mutual interests.

The talks come as the Maldives seeks to expand its global partnerships while maintaining its strategic position in the Indian Ocean. Saudi Arabia, a key player in the Middle East, has increasingly engaged with South Asian nations to foster economic and cultural ties.
