Ooredoo Maldives held a special edition of its “Grow with Ooredoo” initiative in S. Meedhoo to mark National Farmers’ Day and World Food Day.

The two-day event, held last Thursday and Friday, saw the telecommunications operator build a designated prayer room for local farmers, donate essential agricultural tools, and run a island-wide tree planting event.

Prominent Addu farmer Abdulla Ramzee, who operates his own plant nursery and serves as the official brand ambassador for “Grow with Ooredoo,” actively participated in the activities, sharing his farming experience to encourage community engagement in agriculture.

“Grow with Ooredoo” is a nationwide corporate social responsibility programme designed to promote sustainable living, bolster food security, and advocate for environmental protection.

The company stated that its support for S. Meedhoo’s farmers, alongside efforts to strengthen community infrastructure and green the island, reflects its broader commitment to supporting local development and environmental sustainability across the communities it serves.
