MALE’, Maldives — At the invitation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make a state visit to Malé from July 25 to 26, the president’s office announced. This marks PM Modi’s first trip to the Maldives since beginning his third term in office. The visit coincides with two significant milestones: the 60th anniversary of the Maldives’ independence and the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

During the two-day visit, PM Modi and President Muizzu will hold high-level talks focusing on bilateral and regional issues. They are also expected to inaugurate several joint projects and sign multiple memoranda of understanding to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The visit underscores the deep ties between India and the Maldives, rooted in shared history and strategic partnership in the Indian Ocean region.
