In a momentous swearing-in ceremony at Darubaaruge, the newly inaugurated Mayor of Male’ city, Adam Azim, extended a hand of collaboration towards the government, emphasizing his commitment to facilitating initiatives that benefit the people of the capital.
Taking the oath of office, Mayor Azim reassured the government that he would not impede any efforts aimed at the welfare of Male’s residents. In a gesture of unity, he expressed his dedication to working in tandem with the government during his tenure.
During his address at the ceremony, Mayor Azim heeded back to the campaign manifesto that propelled him to victory, underlining that the challenges faced by the public necessitate the full cooperation of the government and state institutions. With confidence, he asserted, “Trust me! The manifesto can be implemented, and the problems faced by the people can be solved with the full cooperation of the government and institutions. I am confident that the city council will receive full cooperation.”
In advocating for a decentralized system, Mayor Azim acknowledged the critical role of support, cooperation, and assistance from the government. He underscored his commitment to fulfilling his responsibilities in collaboration with government and state institutions, emphasizing that such collaboration is mandated by the law.
Mayor Azim, in his new capacity, also took a moment to shine a spotlight on the housing schemes initiated by the previous Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) government. Requesting the government’s continued support for these housing projects, he acknowledged the significance of sustained efforts in addressing the housing needs of the city’s residents.
As the political landscape in Male’ city undergoes this transition with Mayor Azim at the helm, his pledge of collaboration sets a promising tone for future endeavors. The synergy between local and government entities, as articulated by the Mayor, stands as a testament to the collective commitment to enhancing the well-being of Male’ populace.
