Ooredoo Maldives recorded a net profit of MVR 172 million in the second quarter of 2026, according to the telecommunications company’s latest financial statement. The figure reflects a 3.9 per cent drop compared to the previous quarter.
The financial performance represents a slight decline year-on-year, down from the MVR 179 million net profit generated during the corresponding period last year.
Ooredoo’s revenue stream relies primarily on two main operational segments: mobile services and broadband internet, and enterprise solutions.
According to the quarter’s financial disclosures, revenue generated from mobile services reached MVR 380 million, representing a dip from the MVR 394 million recorded in the first quarter of the year.
Despite the contraction in mobile revenue, the operator posted modest growth in its fixed broadband segment. Revenue from fixed broadband services rose to MVR 155 million in the second quarter, marking a 2 per cent increase from MVR 152 million recorded in the preceding quarter.
Total revenue for the second quarter stood at MVR 536 million, declining from MVR 547 million reported in the first quarter. Profit before tax reached MVR 203 million, compared to MVR 210 million in the previous quarter.
