MIRA said total revenue collected for the month reached MVR 2.80 billion, (USD 181.6 million) with 16.9 percent of that amount coming from efforts to recover unpaid taxes and fees owed to the state.

The authority has been intensifying its recovery work through multiple channels, including reminders to taxpayers, settlement agreements for those facing payment difficulties, and enforcement measures where necessary.

Of the total recovered:

  • USD 25.9 million was collected through notices issued to taxpayers
  • USD 10.1 million through due‑clearance processes
  • USD 3.96 million under instalment agreements

  • USD 0.32 million from the seizure of bank accounts belonging to non‑compliant taxpayers

Of the MVR 666 million recovered in February, MVR 399 million came from notices issued to taxpayers, while MVR 156 million was collected through due‑clearance processes. An additional MVR 61 million was received under instalment agreements arranged with various parties.
