The President’s Office is among several government ministries that have yet to submit their mandatory annual information disclosure reports to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICOM), the agency said in its latest transparency report.
According to ICOM, only 40 percent of government agencies met the January 31 deadline to report the number of information requests they received and how they responded, as required under the Right to Information Act.
Among those that failed to submit reports are the Social and Family Development Ministry, Sports Ministry, Higher Education Ministry, and the Construction and Housing Ministry. In a statement on X, ICOM noted that many agencies had yet to comply, underscoring ongoing transparency concerns.
A total of 383 agencies submitted their reports on time, but the widespread noncompliance raises concerns about accountability and adherence to the Access to Information Act within government institutions.
