President Leads Cabinet Meeting on Infrastructure Priorities

Male’ — President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu hailed a cabinet working meeting held on Tuesday as “very successful,” emphasizing progress on the government’s top-priority infrastructure development projects. In a message shared on his WhatsApp group channel, the president outlined a “comprehensive, detailed, and practical plan” to fulfill promises made during his presidential campaign and included in his manifesto.

The meeting, attended by ministers and managing directors of key state-owned enterprises, focused on updates regarding critical infrastructure initiatives. The President’s Office reported that Dr. Muizzu shared details on projects assigned to government companies and urged greater public engagement by encouraging citizens to stay informed about ongoing developments.

Among the companies consulted were the State Trading Organization (STO), Waste Management Corporation (WMC), Fenaka, Road Development Corporation (RDC), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), and Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC). Discussions centered on project timelines, challenges, and solutions to ensure timely completion, with the president emphasizing the importance of adhering to schedules.

The President’s Office also noted that the meeting addressed measures to resolve issues raised by company managing directors, aiming to streamline project implementation. Dr. Muizzu’s administration has prioritized infrastructure as a cornerstone of its agenda, with Tuesday’s session underscoring a commitment to transparency and accountability in delivering on campaign promises.
